What you'll learn in this course

I am Lexie,

I have done the research and I have had 14 years' experience and know when grooming is appropriate for cats. I rarely get bitten or scratched. I have kung foo reflexes, but also know what to expect most of the time! (it's rare when a cat's behaviour cannot be read)

I will help you understand:

  • Know what type of cat you are dealing with, straight from the carrier.
  • Understand if a cat is too stressed to continue grooming.
  • Stress signs, body language and when to stop grooming
  • The Cat's health history and behaviour history and that it can affect your decision, on what is best for the cat's grooming.
  • Understanding the importance of a 'New Client Form' and taking an extensive history for you to assess the cat's grooming properly
  • Temperament assessment and how to groom each type including videos and photos.
  • Photos of my handling positions.
  • Why scruffing is not recommended.
  • The risks associated with grooming an aggressive cat?
  • What to do if a cat becomes aggressive during the groom.
  • How to prevent a change in behaviour leading to aggression.

It is up to you when you stop the groom, I give you the tools here to help you make the decision.

Sorry but this will probably change the way you look at each cat! You will be reading all cats after this course!
